GREEK ARCHITECTS publishes MORPHOU CULTURAL CENTER Competition

  • Posted on: January 30, 2013

Greek Architects presents Morfou Cultural Center. The project won first prize in an Architectural Competition. There were forty-eight submissions. The program called for exhibition spaces, a theater, and also administrative spaces. The project integrates the existing slope and major trees on the site as part of a central courtyard. The sloped courtyard also functions as part of an outdoor promenade that connects the administrative spaces on the upper floor to the cultural spaces on the ground floor. This central outdoor space can also function as an extension of the exhibit space accommodating bigger events.
